Who Never Rests

As annoying and tasteless as Who Never Rests tends to be when it forgets what decade it’s in, Khan is a fascinating personality that may just piss you off a bit. Much like Peaches, Har Mar Superstar, and countless other vexing personalities in the indie-pop world, Khan is all about Khan. And what is Khan? Good question. I’d like to think Khan is a dorky dude that doesn’t know when to quit pilfering the drawers of dance, funk, lounge, and hip-hop. I’d like to think Khan is a guy that wears Hawaiian shirts and sips spiked fruit punch from a beerhat. I’d like to think Khan parties every night and snorts lines off of disco album jackets. I’d like to think Khan knows he doesn’t really have a very good voice. I’d like to think Khan knows his shit is cheesy as a cheddar-juiced bratwurst. I’d like to think Khan watches a lot of Star Trek. I’d like to think Khan is a great performer. I’d also like to think Khan would think better of releasing a maddening, inconsistent album like Who Never Rests, but then again, what do I know? (Grant Purdum)
